We are constantly striving to provide our patients with the finest dental care available. Our investment in advanced technology means a long-term investment in your future, because state-of-the-art technology invites informed decision making and enables patients to make wise choices concerning their oral health. Dr. Hudimac offers the latest dental technology for your benefit:
Dental Imaging
Digital x-rays
With Digital Dental Radiography we can do X-Rays more comfortably and with 70% to 90% less radiation. Improved accuracy means we have to re-expose our patients less often. There’s no film to develop, and in a few seconds both you and Dr. Hudimac can be discussing a computerized image that’s easy to see and helps us communicate your problems clearly. Radiographs assist in the detection of cavities between the teeth and around existing fillings and crowns that may not be visible in the mouth. Cavities that are in the beginning stage can also be detected earlier on a radiograph so that your treatment becomes less invasive and less costly and we can try to help you avoid toothaches and abscesses.
3D Cone Beam CT Scans
Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental x-rays are not sufficient. We use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
Intra-oral Camera
This camera allows us to quickly and easily photograph the inside of your mouth. The photographic image can be projected onto a color monitor. Because this magnification allows you to see your mouth more clearly, you are better able to participate in your treatment. Many patients love this feature of our office and say that they have never been able to see their teeth like this before
iTero Scanner
Our office utilizes one of the latest generations of intra-oral scanners, which use digital technology to create records and models of your teeth and gum tissues. This allows our office to give you the following benefits:
- Super accurate and fast impressions of the teeth for making crowns, bridges, veneers, and dental appliances such as bite guards, bleaching trays, partial dentures, and more
- Accurate impressions to use for orthodontic treatment with Invisalign clear aligners
- Time Lapse Technology allows Dr. Hudimac to monitor for any changes such as tooth wear, gum recession, or tooth movement
- Occlusogram feature, which allows for evaluation of the patient’s bite and the forces on the teeth
- Invisalign Outcome Simulator, which can show a patient a simulation of the patient’s teeth after orthodontic treatment
- Creating 3D Digital models of a patient’s teeth for discussion of needed treatment and creating a permanent record.
Versah Densah Bur for Implants
The Densah® Bur technology is based on a novel biomechanical bone preparation technique called “osseodensification.” Unlike traditional dental drilling techniques, it does not cut away bone tissue. Rather, bone tissue is simultaneously compacted and auto-grafted in outwardly expanding directions from the site. Dense compacted bone tissue produces stronger retention for your dental implant and may facilitate faster healing.
Laser Cavity Detector
This instrument represents the state of the art in cavity detection. It uses laser energy to detect decay at its earliest stages so that we can do minimally invasive treatment and prevent further destruction of your teeth.
Latex Isolation System
With the use of bonding to place the strongest fillings possible, it is essential to prevent any contamination of the tooth while placing the filling. This system creates the ideal environment by virtually eliminating saliva or excess moisture from the area while using the most advanced bonding agents available to restore your teeth with strong, natural looking materials.
Piezo Electric Ultrasonic Scaler
Amazing comfort and speed for your dental cleanings with piezo electric instruments. After having their teeth cleaned using piezo electric energy, most of our patients are very pleased not having their teeth scraped so much and it is faster too. In terms of effectiveness, safety, and patient comfort, ultrasonic scaling remains one of the best methods of non-surgical periodontal therapy.
Computerized Implant Planning
With the aid of a Cone Beam CT scan, we rely on in-depth 3D imaging to make decisions on your implant’s placement, reducing the chance of complications significantly. We employ virtual implant placement software to analyze your CT scan, which then provides a variety of perspectives and views that simply would not be available without it.
CAESY Patient Education
The Caesy system is a wonderful dental education program. Patients can use this computerized interactive system to learn all about how our office can help you have a healthy, attractive smile. And any part of it can be placed onto a CD for our patients to view on a home computer.
